Covid Relief for an Indian Village
Today my Children are Angels from Heaven Covid Relief story takes us to a small village named Baghima in
Chhattisgarh ,India. During Covid and the LockDowns that followed, people were not allowed to go to work.
I have written before that there are no workers unemployment , welfare or Stimulus checks for anyone. So many people have fallen on tough times.
To make it very simple to understand no work means there is no money to buy food or pay basic bills. Each family is on their own.
My friend, Sister Mary of the Daughters of the Cross Sisters, told me about this problem in a small village where she is and how hard working families now had no money to buy food because of the Covid lockdowns and not being able to go to work.. This made me very sad and I know Children are Angels from Heaven had to reach out in some way to help the people.
It took a little time, but with the help of many people our funds arrived to Sister Mary and she was able to help 10 families in a time of great need as well as keeping everyone safe from Covid.
Sister Mary and the other Daughters of the Cross Sisters with her, did a wonderful job gathering many basic needed food items and distributing it to the people in need. The finished project worked out great, and many families were very Happy as well as being very Thankful for our help.
Thanks to all of you for supporting Children are Angels from Heaven in a time of need for the village people.
Also a special Thank You to Sister Mary and the Daughters of the Cross Sisters for working so hard to help the people in need.
Even though we live a world apart, everything worked out perfect.
Below you will find a Thank You letter from Sister Mary as well as a few photos.

Hello Ray…
Our computer is out of order these days so am sending this report through my mobile so my writing will not be the same. I find it difficult to type the letters. Am doing my best… hope this report will be decent enough to share with your team. Please arrange the pictures as you wish and find suitable.
During the pandemic lockdown the ones who suffered the most were the poor people especially those who make their livelihood on a daily basis…we call them daily wage earners. They give service in the shops, restraunts, fields, construction sites, houses etc. They are paid minimum so they can have savings. During the lockdown everything was closed and these people had no job…no job means no pay. Five such people were working to build toilets for the hostel children in our campus (the project sponsored by children are angels from heaven) During lockdown they requested me if I could give them Rs. 500 in advance to manage the family for a week. I knew they had difficulties but I did not realize to what extent they might be struggling. When I shared this with Mr. Ray, he with the help of Anwesha immediately dispatched Rs. 33,325.31. I approached a family to find what were their requirements and they said they needed basic items like Rice, oil, pulses, cereals and sugar. I worked out the budget and realized we could help some more people…so in total we sponsored 10 families with their requirements. There was surplus fund with which we got biscuits and snacks which would be a great treat for the children in the family. Once we got the packets ready…we called the families. They were very happy and express their sincere gratitude to Mr. Ray and the Children are angels from heaven for their kindness and generosity. The following day one lady met me and said that the children were very very excited to see that much of food stuff at a time in the house….
I take the opportunity to thank you Ray for your prompt response and action to reach out to the needy. The families are grateful to you. God bless you
Sr. Mary
