Today brings me to see my good friend Jeet at Curio Cottage in New Market.

 

Jeet and his workers have all helped me on every trip to India. New Market is a big shopping area..Jeet knows that I come here to help people , and for those of you who help me back home do this work , you know that I always send you back a hand written Thank You card with a very small gift from India…when a donation is made to Angels…

 

Jeet sells me those gifts at a very low cost so Curio Cottage is the only store that I go to in New Market to buy anything…and it’s been that way for over 20 years…

 

When I first arrive to India I always go to lunch with Jeet and talk about our families and how each of us have been since we last met….or what’s changed in the USA and India…after a nice lunch I tell Jeet my needs so he is able to order the goods that I want to take back home with me such as small elephants or scarfs…if he does not have these items in stock at his store he has to order them and it takes time to get them…

 

That is why I make my order very early at the beginning of my visit here…so my order is complete when it’s time to go back home.

 

This year I am staying in another part of the city with a Bengali family and they look after my day to day needs. I have known this family for a very long time and they understand my diet with me being American and what I need to eat to stay healthy and not get sick.

 

The Dad , Dibyendu is like a big blanket over me every day looking after , Uber rides, buying school supplies and just teaching me about India every day…

Every day we have traveled the city from early morning to just before sunset. The Mom , Priti makes sure I get an egg omelet to eat in the morning with water and fruit…

 

Dibyendu and Priti both remind me of Mum & Uncle Xavier who looked after me years ago but now they both have gone to Heaven … I also miss another very good friend who helped me for many years in Kolkata Cheryl..She has now moved to South India…

 

I would be all alone here but God sent me two more Angels…Dibyendu & Priti to help me this year…and I am very thankful for that….

 

To end this short mail , I can only tell you I’m ok and Very Happy to see everyone again in Kolkata..
