Angels - Kolkata 3
Hi Everyone
As I continue my visits to local schools on Candy Day …I am now at the Loyola High School Primary Section.
This is a very big school with many children.. I have known 2 teachers here for many years, Victoria & Parkum. They are both 1st grade teachers. I have known Parkum since she was a little girl over 20 years ago staying at St Vincent’s. We played seven stones together along with the other children because there were no balls to play with..Now she is a married woman with 2 children and a Teacher.
All of us had so much fun handing out all the candy to the children….
This was another great visit, something I will always remember. When my visit with Victoria and Parkum was over, Parkum took me to the Principal’s office to meet the School Principal. Her name was Sister Rebecca..
It’s kind of funny that here I am Ray OBrien sitting in the principal’s office telling the principal my story from long ago as Parkum stands next to me to listen..Sister was very interested in why I came to Kolkata , so I told her a little about my family story with 3 adopted children from Kolkata. Sister Rebecca sent out for us to have a nice sweet fruit drink from the vendor just outside the school door as I told the story.
When the teachers came in and out of the office I gave each one a handful of candy…
It’s kind of strange how it all worked out because when it was time to say goodbye to Parkim and Sister Rebecca I had just enough candy for everyone and all that was left was an empty bag …It’s like God himself planned out the entire visit…
