I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and that it was a nice time to always remember…

 

I will tell you about my Thanksgiving in India….

 

First off let me tell you that almost every trip that I have made to India (26) is during the week of Thanksgiving on purpose. The reason for that is …It is an American holiday to give Thanks. I come to Kolkata India to Thank all all the people here for my 3 adopted children from here long ago.

 

My children are beautiful in every way and I try to thank all of India for them, especially places with children like schools , or children’s homes because in any place that I visit , my children could have been one of the children there that I visit if they did not come home to me in the USA .

 

I will always be grateful to the people who helped the 3 of them when they were babies… So that’s how I like to give Thanks by helping others.. My personal story took place long ago but I continue to help others today in honor of my 3 beautiful children.

 

Now for my Thanksgiving this year….

 

This year was a very special Thanksgiving for me. The Sisters, Sister Anna Mary and Sister Alexia helped me buy 2 orders of fresh fruit of apples, bananas, and oranges along with a big chocolate cake and a big bottle of Sprite at the market area and bring it to 2 families who are very poor. Two exact orders going to two different families..

 

When Sisters Anna Mary ,Sister Alexia and myself arrived at each home with the goods, the families were so surprised, and you could see the children were excited. I sat in each small house in a chair and explained what Thanksgiving is in the USA and how it is a special holiday celebrated with lots of food and families eating together. I told them how It started in the USA long long ago with the Pilgrims and the American Indians.

 

Today it was Ray O’Brien and the Indian Indians along with the Sisters who celebrated the special holiday ( Thanksgiving ) in India.

Below you will see a few photos and I hope in my heart that you can understand how special this Thanksgiving was for all of us….

 

After we delivered the food and sweets to each house and our visits with each family was over, it was very dark outside as the Sisters and I made our way home.

 

We got home very late after dinner.

 

So I went to my room and made 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and just thought about what a wonderful Thanksgiving 2024 was for me.
