Angels - Rourkela 18

Hi Everyone.
Today is Zoo day for a local primary school named St Joseph Girls Primary School.

I had spoken to Sister Anna Mary about the trip as I had gone there a long time ago with other small children in one classroom of the school and it was a fun time for everyone.

I told Sister Anna Mary this year I wanted to do it again but this time with the entire school. She looked at me and she said, Mr Ray that it would cost a lot of money. I said to her Sister, forget about the money, let’s just plan out a nice day for the kids to always remember …I asked her to get a school bus and whatever is needed for the day trip with all the kids. Let’s make it a great time for everyone and let me worry about the funding.

With that, Sister Anna Mary made all the plans to get a big bus to travel to the Zoo and have a nice snack there of pizza rolls and drink and then come back to the school and have a nice lunch and jump rope in the School Hall with new jump ropes that we had bought at Ruby sports a few days earlier.

With the Teachers Sisters and Children there were about 120 people.

I am telling you these kids had a blast at the Zoo and also playing at the Zoo playground. I sat on a bench in the playground and I honestly got tired of watching the kids run around from ride to ride. If it wasn’t the swings or slides it was the merry go round. It was like a never ending good time for the kids.
The kids enjoyed the dollhouse and the snake, bear and monkey exhibits at the Zoo.

The Zoo was very clean with lots of open areas to run from one exhibit to the other and it was a weekday so the Zoo was not crowded with people.

We stopped in the Zoo at the Affectionary Cafe and Restaurant for drinks and Pizza rolls. The owner and his help were fantastic to help us with so many children to feed. They made sure that we had everything that we needed and that the kids had something good to eat.

At the Zoo there was a little train that you could ride on that took you all around the Zoo property in a big circle.. The kids had a lot of fun on it …The engineer of the train would blow the whistle on the train and it would go CHOO -CHOO….as it traveled on the tracks…

When we got back to the School from the Zoo I would yell out CHOO – CHOO and then all the kids would yell it out CHOO – CHOO back to me and then laugh and laugh …

When we went to the school hall after lunch all the kids were given jump ropes…again those kids had fun . Lots of smiles skipping the ropes…

It ended up to be a long day for everyone but fun, something to always remember….

CHOO – CHOO
