Donation box for Nepal
This story is about a donation box sent to Nepal. The box was sent in late Nov 2025 but did not arrive to Nepal until mid Jan of 2026.
Sister Bindu of the Daughters of the Cross Sisters was my contact in Nepal and I have to say that Sister Bindu along with the other Sisters at the Convent and School did a wonderful job helping me, and working through all the details to get our donation box to her as well as to take photos of everything and send the photos back to me so that i can show all of you the final results.
Many of you do not understand how hard it can become to ship donation boxes full of beautiful donations halfway around the world especially during Covid and these troubled times as well as the expense to do it . It’s not easy.
To do it you need good help at the receiving end in case of a problem that may come up with duty charges or a lost box and also to look after the distribution of the donated goods inside the box to the poor.
In enough words The Daughters of the Cross Sisters are very hard working Sisters, and they all do their very best to look after everyone including me and our Angels work.
In this donation box there was a little of everything that people had given me over the years that I had kept in storage and used only as needed when there was room in a box to ship, as well as two giant boxes of fresh candy with lots of chocolate candy.
The children of Nepal love Chocolate candy just like the kids in India or the USA do.
Along with the candy I filled the box with some beautiful bigger dolls that were given to me back in Sept 2018 from Jim and his wife Virginia’s doll collection and also from my friend Michael. Also in the box were sneakers and sandals from Joanna and Tennis balls to play with.
When you see the tennis balls, think of them like this, as being very special.
In India I know for a fact that one child does not play with one ball alone.
One ball would make 4 to 6 children very Happy playing together with it. If it looks new and is bright yellow it may be used for a game of Cricket by the children. The balls are bought from a real nice man named Elliott at The Hardware Center in Brockton, MA.
This donation box may look like just a simple box, but to pack it and ship it and distribute it, takes many hands to do.
At the very end of the small project when the donation box is empty, all of us together have made the world a Better Place >> with smiles.
Many Thanks to everyone for all your help. See the photos below. The photos start with me going to the post office with the big box along with all the shipping and customs forms , and then the box arriving to Sister Bindu in Nepal to open and distribute everything.
