Letter from Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy
Recently, I received a nice letter from the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy in Kolkata.
It was the reports of both Rumpa and Soaib who we have sponsored for many years as small children to go to school at IICP as well as being given food and Medicine. Children are Angels from Heaven has always been very Happy to reach out to help these two young adults with your support and help. This is where some of our donation money is going each year to help children. Please enjoy the reports.

Rumpa
Name:Rumpa
D.O.B:23/01/1994
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy with Intellectual Disabilities.
IICP Service Used:Adult Day Centre (ADC)
Physical Abilities: Rumpa uses a wheelchair with support for her mobility. She cooperates with the caregiver for all the activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming and during mealtime. She is also cooperative with the care staff in the Institute.
Method of Communication:She can verbally express Hi Everyone herself in 1–2-word phrases in Bengali.
Family details: She and her mother live in their own house.
Rumpa attended online classes regularly and took part in all class activities. She can join Zoom classes with ease. She answered topic-based questions, solved various worksheets and submitted assignments within the allotted time. She is able to comprehend short selected texts and answer questions from it. Rumpa attends Mini Module classes in catering twice a week with great interest. In these sessions she has learnt the recipe and process of making snacks like Sandwiches and French fries, a variety of beverages like lassi, nimbupani ,jaljeera and sarbat.
Rumpa attended and enjoyed all the online celebrations of several festivals and special occasions which were celebrated on the virtual platforms. These were New Year, Netaji Jayanti, Republic Day, Saraswati Puja, Holi, Nabobarsha among others.
On a personal front, Rumpa is upset as she lost her grandmother during the reported period.

Soaib
Name : Soaib
D.O.B:13/01/2000
Diagnosis: Cerebral Palsy with Intellectual Disabilities.
IICP Service Used:Adult Day Centre (ADC)
Physical Abilities:Soaib uses a wheelchair with support, for his mobility. He cooperates with the caregiver for all activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming and mealtime. He is also cooperative with the care staff in the Institute.
Method of Communication:He uses Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) support systems. He communicates by making sounds and facial expressions.
Family details: He lives with his parents and grandmother’s family in their own house.
Soaib was regular in attending the online classes held during the months of January to March 2022. He took part in the News and Story, Grooming andMusic sessions with much enthusiasm. He watched the videos sent by the teachers with interest and was able to respond to questions accordingly. He has learnt to make various paper crafts, college and do finger printing. Regular attendance has helped to improve his social skills and level of interaction.
Soaib enjoyed the online celebration of several festivals and special occasions like New Year, Netaji Jayanti, Republic Day, Saraswati Puja, Holi, and the Bengali New Year.
Soaib being double vaccinated. Now he is regular in Adult Day Centre.
