It sure has been a very sad two weeks seeing the news on the tv and in the newspapers regarding Ukraine and its people . 

 

You would never in your life think that you would see such horrible news. 

 

I will simply say that I could not sit in my comfortable home each day and not do anything to help the poor people who are either fighting or running for their lives.

 

I had been trying to find a place for  Children are Angels from Heaven to donate to help Ukraine.

 

I reached out to many people to try to find a good honest place to donate to, and my friend Anwesha in Germany sent me an address and telephone number to call a local church in Boston to see if they would work with me.

 

It worked out perfect !   

 

I spoke to Fr Roman of St Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Jamaica Plain, Boston on the telephone.

 

I told Fr, Roman  that we have a small charity named Children are Angels from Heaven and that we wanted to help the people of the Ukraine. He told me at this time his church is only accepting basic new medical supplies and monetary donations.

 

I said to Fr Roman that I will be driving over to the church to make my donations tomorrow and thanked him for letting us be a part of his donation program for the Ukrainian people.

 

That night my wife and I went shopping for basic medical supplies. We bought everything on the list 2 and 3 times over. In the end I had two large shopping bags and a box of everything that was on the medical request list from the church. 

 

Wed morning my wife Patty and I made our way to the church in Jamaica Plain to make the delivery.

 

When we arrived at the church we met two women in the Church hall. One whose name was Jane was very very friendly and so happy to see and welcome us to her church. The other woman I did not get her name, as just as we started taking her cell phone rang and it was a telephone call from the Ukraine.

 

Patty and I had a really nice talk with Jane. During our conversation, all three of us – Jane, Patty and myself – had tears in our eyes listening to some of the stories and how bad it is right now for the people of Ukraine and how desperate the people are for help. Jane almost started crying when she told us about orphans that her church supports and how they had to be moved.

 

When I gave Jane our donations, she put them on the stage in the hall. 

 

I was so proud to see that the stage area was also full of many other medical donations for the Ukraine people from her church. 

 

After taking a few photos with Jane, I gave her a small check to the church from all of us for Humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine. She thanked me very much for everything. 

 

After all was said and done, Patty and I said goodbye to Jane and walked outside to our car in the parking lot. 

 

I felt something deep within me after my visit to St. Andrew Ukrainian Orthodex Church.

 

 That Children are Angels from Heaven reached out to help the world without being asked to do so , and that we were being helped by Angels of St Andrew Ukrainian Church.

 

Thank You Fr Roman, Thank You Jane and the other lady in the church hall,  Thank You Anwesha in Germany, Thank You to all of you that help and support Children are Angels from Heaven…
